Jennifer Garcia
Director
Mrs. Garcia is a senior instructor in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, and Contemporary. Mrs. Garcia is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas where she began her dance training at the age of 3 with Roquemore Ballet Arts. Mrs. Garcia has studied with many artists and master teachers from various companies throughout the U.S. including, San Diego Ballet, Maryland Youth Ballet, John Magnus of the Joffery Ballet, and Li Cunxin & Mary McKendry formerly of the Houston Ballet, as Well as David Howard of the Boston Ballet and David Holliday of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Mrs. Garcia has also attended many dance intensive study programs, festivals, and conferences. Mrs. Garcia has been involved with several community organizations through performance and choreography used in such events including Bailando al Aire Libre, NAACP Benefits, Bayfest and Buc Days to name a few. For the past four years, she has worked with several contestants of the Nueces County Queens Contest on the talent portion of the competition. Mrs. Garcia has also worked with several high schools and College Dance/Drill teams and Cheerleading squads throughout Texas. In addition, Mrs. Garcia has created a dance program for gymnasts and instructed elite gymnasts in the Corpus Christi area. Mrs. Garcia has had many students go on to be accepted or attend such prestigious universities as Arizona University, Hope College, NYU, Texas A&M University, UT, Loyola Marymount University, Cal Arts and Dominican University. Mrs. Garcia’s students have also attended such dance programs as Joffery Ballet, Alonzo King Dance Company, San Francisco Ballet, School of American Ballet, Houston Ballet, Ballet Austin and Alvin Aily. Also in the last two years, she has had students appear in Las Vegas as finalists on the hit T.V. show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. Mrs. Garcia’s choreography has garnered special recognition and platinum awards from varies competitions and conventions such as New York City Dance Alliance, Showstoppers, Starlight and Jump. Mrs. Garcia is married with two beautiful daughters.
Vanessa Morgan
Assistant Company Director
Vanessa Morgan began her ballet training at three years of age. She was accepted into the Corpus Christi Ballet's company at 13. Mrs. Morgan has studied with many artists and master teachers from various companies throughout the U.S. including Buddy and Susan Trevino of Joffery Ballet, Ylianna Lopez of Miami Ballet, David Howard of Boston Ballet and Kathy Tibado of Ballet Magnifacat to name a few. She has participated in many regional festivals and summer intensive workshops such as Ballet Magnifacat and Joffery Ballet. She also enjoyed performing in several classical ballets including The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Copellia, and many others. Mrs. Morgan has been active in the community through Ballet Works, a program that visits schools throughout the Corpus Christi area educating children in the fine arts. Mrs. Morgan stopped performing to obtain her degree in Radiologic Technology but continues to teach her passion, ballet. She is married and has a beautiful daughter.
Christy Francis
Assistant Studio Director
Mrs. Francis began her ballet training at Roquemore Ballet Arts at the young age of three and has had a passion for dance ever since. Mrs. Francis has studied many dance forms including ballet, jazz, modern, tap, and character dancing. She has had the opportunity to dance with the Corpus Christi Ballet in many productions, including full-length ballets such as The Nutcracker, Coppelia, Graduation Ball, Les Sylphides, Giselle, Peter and the Wolf, and Swan Lake. Mrs. Francis attended The University of Texas and continued dancing with Ballet Austin at the Pre-Professional level. Later Mrs. Francis decided to join the Slavin-Nadal Ballet as a company member under the directorship of Eugene and Alexandra Slavin, former artistic directors of The Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and Ballet Austin. With the Slavin-Nadal Ballet Mrs. Francis danced leading roles including the Waltz from Les Sylphides and Peter in Peter and the Wolf. While at the Slavin’s school, Mrs. Francis taught ballet to all levels and choreographed and assisted with recitals. In 2001, she took a break from school and dance to live in Venezuela for eighteen months doing missionary work. Following her mission trip, she graduated from The University of Texas with a Bachelors degree in education. Her love of teaching continued as she pursued a career in teaching high school Spanish. Mrs. Francis is married and has a beautiful daughter. You can currently see her perform with the Corpus Christi Ballet as a soloist in this season’s Nutcracker.
